Protest The Hero Bassist Leaves Band

by | Apr 2, 2014

We wanted to wait until after April Fools’ Day to post this — Protest The Hero have parted ways with their longtime bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi. There was some speculation about Mirabdolbaghi’s position in the band when he sat out PTH’s tour with Architects last fall to work on theatre project. It’s now official, he has left the band.

Arif has decided that the touring schedule we have signed up for to support Volition is more intense than what he is prepared to commit. He is actively involved with other projects at home and being a full time band member isn’t a practical thing. Though he has and will be missed out on the road with his brothers, everything was left on a positive note and we are open to his involvement down the road and only time will see how it all plays out.

The band has recruited friend Cameron McLellan to fill in bass duties for the rest of their Volition cycle. With that said, we’ll leave you with this interesting interview of Mirabdolbaghi and vocalist Rody Walker back in the day on MuchMusic.
