bring me the horizon

Bring Me The Horizon have confirmed that they will begin writing material for their next studio album in late February.

A follow-up to There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret, the effort is tentatively expected out in summer.

According to NME, Bring Me The Horizon will soon begin writing their fourth album, and have tentative plans to enter the studio by summer.

The in-the-works follow-up to There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret reportedly will draw some influence from post-rock bands such as Explosions In The Sky and This Will Destroy You.

Further, the band's 46-minute tour documentary, Lads on Tour, filmed by frontman Oli Sykes' brother Tom Sykes, can be viewed below.

Bring Me The Horizon were involved in an altercation during their set Sunday night in Helsinki, Finland, in which two band members physically attacked hecklers in the audience.

Footage below (skip to 4:00) shows guitarist Jona Weinhofen losing his temper, repeatedly punching a concertgoer after jumping in the crowd during the band's November 6th performance at The Circus in Helsinki. Frontman Oliver Sykes also joined the brawl, allegedly hitting a crowd member numerous times with his microphone.

"If you don't like our band, then fuck off!" Sykes screamed at the crowd. "If you've got a problem, come here," he urged the hecklers to come on stage.

At 5:17 in the video, members of the crowd can be heard chanting "[We] hate your fucking band!"

It is reported that Weinhofen broke his hand during the fight.

The incident is the second onstage altercation with the band in the past two months. In October, hecklers rushed the stage at a Salt Lake City performance, resulting with Weinhofen hitting an attacker with the head of his guitar.

You Me At Six will release their new album, Sinners Never Sleep, in North America on January 24th.

The effort is expected to see guest appearances from Bring Me The Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes and Parkway Drive's Winston McCall.

A track called "Little Death" is available for download on Bandcamp.

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oliver Sykes has responded to Wednesday's news of a UK man jailed for attempted murder after impersonating the vocalist to seduce a California woman he met on Facebook.

"Guy nearly kills someone posing as me, not cool," Sykes initially commented on his Tumblr.

Sykes later issued the following statement:

"I woke up to the news in LA, and didn't really believe it at first. It's very unsettling. I'm aware that people have used my identity for pranks and whatever, which has always been something that's been uncomfortable for me, but for something like this to happen is terrifying. My heart goes out to Maricar and hope she recovers soon. I would also urge anyone using social networking sites about a really great foundation called the Carly Ryan foundation (carlyryanfoundation.com). Carly suffered a fate worse even worse than this case but the story isn't worlds apart. The foundation was set up to raise awareness and educate people on the risks of meeting people online. Stay safe and be careful."

According to dailymail.co.uk, a Northampton, UK McDonald's worker impersonated Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oliver Sykes to seduce a California woman he met on Facebook before slitting her throat and repeatedly stabbing her.

David Russell, 20, has been jailed for life after admitting to the kidnap and attempted murder of Maricar Benedicto, 19, who he met online in 2010.

Benedicto travelled to Northampton to meet Russell on April 1, where he took her to Harlestone Firs Forest, blindfolded her, then slit her throat. The woman ran away, and was later stabbed three more times, hit in the face with a log, and headbutted.

Russell must serve a minimum of 17-and-a-half years in prison before being considered for release.

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has issued a statement in regards to last night's show in Salt Lake City where the band was allegedly attacked onstage.

"Just to clear any rumours… Nothing happened last night apart from a bunch of soft lads stomped on a lil kids head 5 seconds into our set, so we stopped playing, had a bit of a banter with em telling em to do one, then some fatty gets on stage tries to hit me, in which he completely fails, misses and falls over, and then gets sparked out by someone In our touring party. The “crew” then responded by running around the venue, breaking a very young girls jaw and stamping on her, and injuring a few more of our young fans. Proper hard init."

"Not a member in Bmth or any of our touring party got so much as a scratch, oh one did want me to know he fucked my wife though, which hit me hard as you know I’ve been happily married for a long time now :)"

"Fucking mongs eh? What can u do?"
