The Big Four -- Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax -- have been confirmed to headline UK's Sonisphere festival on July 8 alongside Slipknot.
 
Metallica recorded a cover of The Kinks song, "You Really Got Me", for Ray Davies' forthcoming collaborative effort, "See My Friends", due on November 1. A preview of the track can be seen here.
 
"The Big Four: Live From Sofia, Bulgaria" DVD/Blu-ray featuring Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax at Sonisphere in Sofia, Bulgaria has been pushed back to a November 2 release date in North America.
 

Metallica will be releasing a limited edition EP dubbed "Six Feet Down Under" via their online store on September 20.

The effort, which features live versions of tracks performed in Australia from 1989 to 2004, will be released in support of the band's upcoming run in Australia and New Zealand.

"The Big Four: Live From Sofia, Bulgaria" DVD/Blu-ray, which features Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax at Sonisphere in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 22, will hit stores on October 19.

The two-set DVD will include the entire performance from all four bands, as well as behind-the-scenes footage.

A limited edition "super deluxe" box set will also be released, and will include the DVD set, five CDs containing all music from the performance, a 24-page booklet, a poster, photos of each band, and a "Big Four" guitar pick.

Members of Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax joined Metallica on stage last night for the "Big Four" show at Sonisphere festival in Sofia, Bulgaria to perform Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?" -- watch below.

The performances of the "Big Four" gig will see a future DVD release.

 

Metallica have pushed back the release dates for their upcoming vinyl reissues. "Load" is now scheduled for a June 15 release.
