With times quickly changing, Architects and Oh, Sleeper are among the latest bands to turn to crowdfunding to support their upcoming releases. Today Architects launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund their upcoming One Hundred Days film."Our time with Century Media is now finished and we wanted to use this time as an unsigned band to release this DVD. This allows us to do it exactly the way that we want to. Funding this project through Indiegogo not only allows us to cut out the middle man but also allows us to gain an idea of demand." Oh Sleeper, also free agents, launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund a new EP. "We have found ourselves finished with our album contract and after talking with our old label and several prospective new ones, we decided to hit the PAUSE button and started talking about doing this ourselves this time." The band added, "We need some repairs to our van, a new trailer, but moreover, we want to release a BRAND NEW EP OF OH, SLEEPER MUSIC based on an awesome concept from Micah and brand new music from the band this summer." Details on both campaigns can be found here and here respectively. Former Dead Poetic frontman Brandon Rike and ex-Oh, Sleeper bassist Lucas Starr have formed a project called At Night We Strike. Below is a new track titled "Your Own Skin." It'll appear on their upcoming debut full-length album, currently being recorded.Oh, Sleeper have recruited former Sky Eats Airplane bassist Johno Erickson for their upcoming touring plans. Erickson will fill the shoes of Nate Grady who switched to guitar in December following the departure of guitarist James Erwin.The band's upcoming trek with Fit For A King and InDirections kicks off on March 7th. Oh, Sleeper, Fit For A King, and InDirections will hit the road for a stint in March. Latest confirmed acts include: Architects, Upon A Burning Body, and Oh, Sleeper.Oh, Sleeper have revealed their new guitarist to replace James Erwin, who announced his departure from the band this past weekend. Bassist Nate Grady will be switching roles and will now handle guitar duties. A new bassist has yet to be announced.The band says that Grady on guitar "opens up a whole new world of playing... a world of shredtacular riffs never before played in Oh, Sleeper." The group recently started writing material for their next album, expected out sometime next year. Oh, Sleeper guitarist James Erwin announced that he will be leaving the band. Says Erwin, "I'm stepping down from Oh Sleeper early next year after our Australia/New Zealand tour. After nearly 7 years, 3 records, an EP, countless tours and endless memories, I'm ready to move on. I'll be forever grateful for the support of our fans. Thank you for everything you've done for us that made this dream a reality. I never deserved this. If I've left any mark on your lives I hope it's this: Never give up on your dreams because they really can come true if work hard and pursue them with everything you've got."Oh, Sleeper will head to the UK/Europe for a tour in October/November.
