The Ocean will release a limited edition 10-inch EP called The Grand Inquisitor. The effort is expected to ship by April 3rd. The outing will include the three "Grand Inquisitor" tracks from the band's album Anthropocentric, along with a previously unreleased seven-minute song titled "The Grand Inquisitor IV - Exclusion From Redemption."

The Ocean's U.S. touring plans for October/November have been canceled. The band comments, "Today is a shit day. Our upcoming US tour just fell apart. We had been confirmed for quite a while for a direct support slot on a good 6-weeks US tour in October and November, and yesterday it was decided that this tour is now being postponed to late November into December. We are not available at that time. Our flights to the US have already been booked for weeks, and we've been left high and dry again... somehow we're just not lucky over there it seems!"

The Ocean is at work on new material. "After two weeks of creative isolation at the new Oceanland on the Spanish coast, there are about 25 minutes of new material written and pre-produced which are basically one continuous piece of music," guitarist Robin Staps commented. "Apart from that, there are 4 more songs, including a wicked cover track." The group will enter the studio in early 2012 to begin tracking the upcoming release, or what could be multiple releases, as hinted by Staps.
