Despite bassist Henry Selva's comments in January stating The Human Abstract disbanded, guitarist Dean Herrera says the band is not broken up.

"As far as im concerned we aren't broken up," Herrera commented on Formspring. "That was Henry going out and spewing the inner workings of the band. We never actually came together and decided anything. I'm still real pissed at him for that. Sure we're taking time, but that doesn't mean anything other than that... Taking time.."

UndertheGunReview.net is reporting that The Human Abstract has disbanded.

Bassist Henry Selva reportedly commented on his personal Facebook (which has since been removed), "Folks, we are not looking for a new vocalist. We are not touring anytime soon. I think it’s only fair you guys know that we’re on 'break or hiatus if you will.' I don’t know why we haven’t said anything. I guess it’s because there is always that 'maybe if something happens, etc..etc…' Or maybe it’s hard for us to realize the reality of our situation, the bands situation, to finally let go. I’ll be honest when I say the folllowing: Periphery and Never Say Die were our last tours together as a band."

An official statement from the group has yet to be released.

Former The Human Abstract vocalist Travis Richter released a statement on his decision to part ways with the band. Richter comments:

"A couple months ago I told the guys I wasn’t going to tour anymore for a couple reasons. One, I’m turning 30 and have given all my time to bands and the road, and I want to be able to start a family and see my parents and grandparents more. Secondly, I graduated with an audio production degree, and I feel myself being pulled into that world as more of a full time position. I think The Human Abstract is an amazingly gifted group of musicians with mind bending potential and I couldn’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me since I joined the band in feb of 2010. The fans have also been more than amazing and accepted me into the THA family, and for that I sincerely thank you!"

MetalInsider.net is reporting that The Human Abstract and vocalist Travis Richter have parted ways.
