Jonny Craig Kicked Out of Emarosa

Emarosa frontman Jonny Craig has been kicked out of the band, reports Alternative Press.

In February, Craig checked into a detox treatment facility in North Hollywood, CA, just weeks prior to Dance Gavin Dance’s US tour, and a week after his MacBook scam went public.

“My state of mind was completely shot and obviously my decision making skills were heavily impaired due to my drug use,” Craig said in a statement regarding the MacBook scam.

In an exclusive Ryan’s Rock Show interview, Dance Gavin Dance guitarist Will Swan admitted that Craig has a history of stealing from band members.

Emarosa has yet to announce a replacement vocalist. Former Tides Of Man vocalist Tilian Pearson filled in for Craig during his time spent in detox.

Dance Gavin Dance Exclusive Interview: The New Album & MacBook Scam

A lot can change in 18 months — especially if you’re Dance Gavin Dance. Since my last interview with the band in September 2009, the group has seen a number of lineup adjustments (most notably the return of original vocalist Jonny Craig and screamer Jon Mess), released a new album Downtown Battle Mountain II, and more recently, has been under heavy criticism for Craig’s now-infamous MacBook scam (in which the singer convinced fans to wire transfer hundreds of dollars in exchange for a laptop that was never delivered).

Jonny Craig Apologizes for MacBook Scam

Dance Gavin Dance frontman Jonny Craig has issued a public apology for his MacBook scam.

In February, Craig listed a MacBook computer for sale via his Twitter account, and reportedly convinced fans to wire transfer hundreds of dollars in exchange for a laptop that was never delivered.

“I want to apologize for my recent behavior,” Craig commented. “My actions regarding taking advantage of fans was inexcusable. I’m in the process of paying everyone back so please forgive me. My state of mind was completely shot and obviously my decision making skills were heavily impaired due to my drug use. I’ve since been in detox and successfully completed the treatment. I’ve learned a lot from this ordeal and I realized I’ve redeemed my second chance. I want to personally thank Eric at Artery and Craig at Rise for helping me through this emotionally and financially. I’m embarrassed with my past actions, I want to make amends to everyone I hurt. Again, sorry to all my fans, family, band mates and colleagues. I’m truly sorry. Now back to work…I’m looking forward to seeing all the DGD fans and their positive energy that they always bring to the shows. With that being said, the past will stay dead and let’s toast to the future kids.”
