THURSDAY Confirms That Reunion is Happening

by | Mar 22, 2016

For at least one show. Thursday will be headlining Wrecking Ball Atlanta this summer, and it’ll be their first time onstage since going on hiatus in 2011.

Frontman Geoff Rickly said,

Five years ago, we found it necessary to end Thursday for reasons beyond our control. Earlier this year, we were able to reconcile all of our differences and spend time together. This is a vital component to what we loved about being in Thursday and we’re happy to say that we’ll be playing this show as the same line-up that began touring together on Full Collapse and jointly worked on every record since.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Full Collapse, the band’s sophomore album that put them on the map. We presume a few more shows will be announced in the future, but so far nothing has been confirmed other than Wrecking Ball.

Geoff said that the lineup for Wrecking Ball Atlanta is the reason why the got back together, and that they “literally had no plans to reunite b4.”

The festival will take place on August 13 & 14. Also on the bill is Quicksand, L7, Drive Like Jehu and Dinosaur Jr.
