Musicians Lash Out Against New Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid

by | Jul 22, 2011

A number of musicians have been lashing out against recently hired Epic Records CEO and X Factor judge, L.A. Reid.

“Wanna know why the record business is over?” Anthrax/The Damned Things’ Scott Ian commented via Twitter. “From the piece of shit that ran Island/Def Jam into the ground.”

After joining the label as its new CEO on July 11th, Reid allegedly told Epic executives to hire only attractive people.

“I don’t want no ugly people working here,” he stated. “I only want good-looking people.”

The Damned Things guitarist Joe Trohman also chimed in via Twitter, “Can’t believe I had to work with this person. What an awful human.”

Reid previously served as the chairman of Island Def Jam, was president and CEO of Arista Records, and co-founder/co-president of LaFace Records.

“This TALENTLESS piece of shit profits from doing/creating nothing unless you count sucking at running a record company,” Ian added, previously stating that Reid is “the definition of a CUNT.”
