Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins Guilty of Attempted Rape of a One-Year Old Baby, Among Other Sex Offenses

One of the most horrific stories to happen over the past year, it turns out all the charges against Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins are true.

Watkins pleaded guilty to attempted rape of a one-year old baby, among several other sex offenses, reports the BBC.

“He accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile,” prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told Cardiff Crown Court today.

Watkins also admitted three counts of sexual assault involving children, six involving indecent images of children, and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image with an animal.

The two women who were with Watkins also pleaded guilty to similar charges.

Apparently Watkins sent a text to one of the women saying: “If you belong to me, so does your baby.” He also wanted to “teach” the babies how to take drugs.

In October, Lostprophets issued the following statement:

“After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time. We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets. Your love and support over the past 15 years has been tremendous, and we’ll be forever grateful for all you’ve given us. As we look forward to the next phase of our lives, we can only hope to be surrounded by people as devoted and inspiring as you guys have been.”
