Sleepwave (ex-Underoath) to Release their Debut Album “Broken Compass”

by | May 21, 2014

We love asking bands about pranks that they’ve pulled, especially ones that are gross and obscene. When we sat down with former Underoath frontman Spencer Chamberlain a few years ago, he told us about the time their sound guy drank a bottle of pee — accidentally, of course. “We definitely convinced our sound guy at one point to drink a Corona that was actually Tim [McTague’s] piss.”

While this may not be as refreshing as a nice, warm bottle of urine, Chamberlain’s new band Sleepwave may have you racing to the potty out of excitement. The band finished their debut album with producer David Bendeth (Killswitch EngageUnderoath), and it’s coming out this summer.

The record is called Broken Compass, and will be released in August. We’ll keep you posted on the exact release date.

For now, here’s a stream of their demo for “Rock And Roll Is Dead And So Am I.” The final version of the song reportedly got reworked for the effort and sounds way better.
