KILLER BE KILLED with Converge’s Koller: Ex-Mars Volta Drummer to Miss Debut Shows

by | Jan 7, 2015

That’s a lot of alliteration in that headline — phew! Anyway, everyone’s stoked about Killer Be Killed making their live debut in February. The supergroup featuring members of Soulfly, The Dillinger Escape PlanMastodon, and ex-The Mars Volta, will be taking the stage for the first time at this year’s Soundwave Festival in Australia.

But you know how drummer Dave Elitch also plays in the Mars Volta offshoot Antemasque? Looks like there’s a scheduling conflict, so he won’t be able to play with Killer Be Killed for those shows. Instead the band have recruited Converge drummer Ben Koller to hit stuff.

And as Greg Puciato said, “Ben from Converge is a fucking animal…”

Soundwave XV takes place February 21 & 22 at Bonython Park in Adelaide and Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne; and Feb. 28th and March 1st at Olympic Park in Sydney and Brisbane Showgrounds in Brisbane.
