GOJIRA’s New Album is Coming this Summer + Teaser

by | Mar 30, 2016

It’s been a turbulent ride for Gojira the past few years. In the process of relocating from France to New York City, they hit a bunch of road bumps, which delayed the recording sessions for their new album.

Guitarist/vocalist Joe Duplantier opened Silver Cord Studio in Queens, but shortly after shit hit the fan for him and his brother Mario, who plays drums. Their mother got sick and passed away.

“We had a bitter taste about the album when everything was going on,” Joe told Rolling Stone. “We’d say, ‘Fuck, what about the album? Fuck.’ It took us months.”

Somehow the band managed to keep it together and recorded a 10-track album that’s due out this summer. It’s a follow up to their 2012 record L’Enfant Sauvage.

“We learned a lot about death,” Joe said.

Here’s a teaser of new material:

Orbs: The Ryan’s Rock Show Interview

I’ve been really diggin’ this band called Orbs. So much to where my daily summer routine goes like this: wake up and listen to Orbs, pee, listen to Orbs while eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, post news on Ryan’s Rock Show and pick up hot...

“It was surreal being there,” bassist Johnny Adger says of touring Europe in 2010 with Them Crooked Vultures. “On the first night, [Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, and Josh Homme] introduced themselves to us. I was like ‘yeah, I know who you...

Lostprophets Interview: Ian Watkins on the Sound of Weapons

“I was thinking I was a big buff guy that wanted to fight people at every show,” Ian Watkins jokes. On a hot August evening outside a restaurant on the Sunset Strip, the Lostprophets frontman tells stories of Public Disturbance, a mid-90s UK hardcore band...
