SAUDADE: The Deftones/Bad Brains Project Has A Dozen Songs Written

by | Jun 13, 2016

Ok so remember a couple months ago when we mentioned that Chino from Deftones started a new project with members of Bad Brains and Medeski Martin & Wood?

Well word on the street is that Saudade (which is the name of the project) have nearly a full album’s worth of material written. That’s 12 to 13 songs.

The group features Moreno with Dr. Know (Bad Brains), John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood), Chuck Doom (Crosses), and Mackie Jayson (Cro-Mags, ex-Bad Brains) — and from what we hear, they’re just having a good time making music. Chino wont be doing much singing with the project but he will be playing guitar.

Chino said in this interview,

It’s just fun. At this point it’s not so much a band as a project. These are guys that I admire and I’m lucky to be friends with them – so we made a batch of songs together.
