Silver Snakes cover Duran Duran & Garbage on Scathe EP

by | Oct 17, 2017

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten new stuff from Silver Snakes. But fear not… the band is set to release Scathe, a 5-track covers EP that includes a brand new song.

Scathe is a digital release that’ll see the band tackling a handful of 80s and 90s hits. They’ll be doing renditions of “Come Undone” by Duran Duran, “#1 Crush” by Garbage and “Burning Inside” by Ministry. The EP will also include a brand new track titled “Follow Your Lead,” along with a remix of “Charmer,” a song off their 2016 record Saboteur.

Now to give you some more details on the EP: it was arranged and self-produced this past summer while mostly on the road. It was recorded by the band’s own Alex Estrada at his Earth Capital studio in Los Angeles, and mastered by Greg Reely (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly).

And keeping it more in the family, the remix of “Charmer” was done in part by Nexialist, the industrial/EDM/metal project spearheaded by SS drummer Garrett Harney.

Here’s a stream of Silver Snakes’ version of “Come Undone.” It was originally performed by Duran Duran back in 1993.

Scathe comes out this Friday, October 20th, via Evil Ink.
