Tool Recording New Album with Joe Barresi
Tool entered their home studio last week with producer Joe Barresi to begin recording their new album, which is being tracked on an analog tape recorder, according to the band’s latest newsletter.
Update 12/2/11 10:44am – Tool clarifies that studio sessions are for Volto!.

Madball and Biohazard will team up for a run in February. Dates follow:
Nominees for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards have been announced.
Amongst those nominated for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance: Mastodon for “Curl Of The Burl” and Megadeth for “Public Enemy No. 1.”
Skrillex was nominated for five awards: Best New Artist, Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album for “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites,” Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for “Cinema (Skrillex Remix),” and Best Short Form Music Video for “First Of The Year (Equinox).”

The GRAMMY Awards will be held on February 12th.
Relapse will issue a 2-CD live Death collection, Vivus!, on February 28th in North America, March 2nd in the Benelux/Germany, and March 5th in the UK and rest of Europe.
The outing will sport two discs of recordings from 1998: a performance at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles and a recording from Dynamo Open Air festival.
