BARONESS: Listen to “Shock Me”

by | Nov 16, 2015

It’s going to be nice ending the year with a new record from Baroness. The group are on course to releasing Purple, their fourth studio album and a follow up to 2012’s Yellow & Green.

Produced by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT), the record is more direct and immediate, according to frontman John Baizley. Here’s what else he said about the album:

[T]he bus accident… nearly ended us. We were unsure three years ago whether we’d be able to be at this point again; and while it hasn’t been a particularly easy road to get back, it is truly thrilling to feel that familiar anxious excitement that comes before we release a new album and to put new music out into the world. We treasure these moments of excitement, as they have taken on a deeper level of significance in recent years.

Here’s a stream of their new track “Shock Me.” Purple will be released on December 18th through the band’s own newly formed label Abraxan Hymns.
