Between The Buried And Me ‘The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues’ Details, Track Listing

by | Feb 28, 2011

Between The Buried And Me will release its forthcoming album, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, on April 12 through Metal Blade.

The effort, the first of two conceptual albums, is a three-song, 30-minute offering recorded with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse).

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues will introduce two human characters who live in different planes of existence, separated by millions of light years,” comments guitarist Paul Waggoner. “We find that each is confronted with similar personal issues that they need to reckon with. Both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever. Musically, it sounds like BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME. The record has elements of aggression, beauty, quirkiness, and pure cacophony. For ‘Part 1’, we establish several themes which I’m sure will be revisited in the lengthier ‘Part 2’, which is something we really look forward to. We love to expand on simple ideas and see where they take us.”

The Acacia Strain Interview on Ryan’s Rock Show

I have a pet peeve with the term “music journalist”. I guess technically what I do for Ryan’s Rock Show is a form of journalism, but sadly my image of a music journalist is no longer Lester Bangs. To me, the term “music journalist” has...

The Faceless Interview: Michael Keene & Evan Brewer Talk New Album & Lineup Adjustments

When The Faceless played the Whisky in 2004 with a D.C. band called Reflux, guitarist Michael Keene recalls a misfortune. “I remember [Evan Brewer] got robbed that night,” he laughs, reminiscing on a show that marked a turning point in the...
