Coheed and Cambria announced that they have parted ways with bassist Michael Todd, and have begun work on writing a new album.

“After a lot of thought, introspection and discussion, Coheed and Cambria will be continuing our journey without bassist Michael Todd,” the band commented via Tumblr. “We have spoken to him and this is a mutual decision between both parties. Todd made international headlines last month after being arrested for robbing a Massachusetts Walgreens of prescription painkillers, hours before the band was to open for Soundgarden. He reportedly demanded Oxycontin, and told the pharmacist that he had a bomb.
