Deftones to Record Seventh Studio Album This Summer

Deftones recently finished pre-production on their seventh album and will enter the studio on July 9th to begin tracking the effort.

In an Spanish interview with Latercera.com, frontman Chino Moreno said “I am very excited about [it] because it sounds futuristic compared to our last album, Diamond Eyes — so it feels like a step forward.”

Update 4/4/12, 3:44pm PST – Chino Moreno has since confirmed that the band will begin tracking the record next week, not this summer.
