Sleepwave (ex-Underoath) are Recording their Debut Album; Band to Tour with Taking Back Sunday & The Used

by | Feb 3, 2014

In 2011 when we interviewed former Underoath frontman Spencer Chamberlain, he told us how he used to give flyers out to people at Warped Tour 2004 to promote the band. “We’d pass one to every single person, even though half the people would look at it and throw it on the ground,” he said. And somehow the crowds just kept getting bigger and bigger.

While Underoath have been resting in their grave since early 2013, Chamberlain has already got flyers ready to go for his new band Sleepwave. The group, who debuted their first song “Rock And Roll Is Dead And So Am I” last fall, have been in the studio with producer David Bendeth (Killswitch Engage, Underoath) tracking their debut release.

We’re not sure when that’s coming out — but remember last October when Chamberlain filled in vocals for Taking Back Sunday after Adam Lazzara had to go ’cause his wife went into labor? Sleepwave will actually be touring with TBS and The Used this spring. Make sure you catch some Zzzzzs.

The Safety Fire Interview: Derya “Dez” Nagle on Setting the Music Scene Ablaze

Just weeks before The Safety Fire’s sophomore album, Mouth Of Swords, came out in September, guitarist Derya “Dez” Nagle was involved in a cycling accident and had to undergo surgery. “Few weeks of rest and all will be well,” he said back in late July about the...

Scale The Summit: The Ryan’s Rock Show Interview

When Scale The Summit played Prosthetic Records their four song demo in 2006, the label had little interest in signing instrumental bands. “[Prosthetic] said word for word: ‘[we’ll] never sign an instrumental band,'” guitarist Chris Letchford...

Zechs Marquise: The Ryan’s Rock Show Interview

Back when I was a wee lad, 15 or so, At The Drive-In was by far my favorite band ever. Even today their music is on my top all-time list of kick ass bands next to groups like Fugazi and Faith No More. I remember in my pubescent years always thinking, whoever got to...
