The House Where Minor Threat Played their First Show is for Sale

Do you remember when we interviewed Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi, etc.) and he told us about some of the early Minor Threat shows? The band’s first performance ever was at a house in DC on Calvert Street — and guess what? If you’re looking for a new home in that area, it’s up for grabs.

That’s right. The house where the legendary hardcore punk band played their first gig is for sale. According to this article, it even has the same hardwood floors. Apparently it was a group home for many years, and was even the living quarters at one point for HR of Bad Brains (presumably before they were banned in DC). The house’s current owner rented it out for several years, then recently converted it into an apartment.

The cost? Two million dollars.
