Sol Invicto, a project featuring Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter and Eric Bobo of Cypress Hill, have added a new drummer to their lineup. The group’s Richie Londres comments:
“As the project has evolved some what we decided we needed 2 drummers. Dan Foord is our main drummer for all the future live shows with Stephen/Bobo. We have also brought in Mike Glozier to work with on some club shows which myself and AJ will be playing with a simple laptop set up and also it keeps up the drum n bass vibe.”
Deftones have set “Diamond Eyes” as the title of their sixth studio album due out on May 18th. The record’s first single, “Rocket Skates”, will be made available for free download on February 23rd.
Deftones will be releasing their sixth studio album in May. When asked what fans should expect from the forthcoming album, vocalist Chino Moreno told Spin Magazine:
“The dynamics Deftones are known for — aggressive overtones and lush openness. They’re on opposite sides of the spectrum, but we meld them together without sounding contrived. There are a few heavy songs, too, like our first couple records, and there are also experimental tunes — but there’s not a minute on this record that feels like it doesn’t need to be there. Each sound complements the other. I’ll straight-up say it: it’s definitely one of our best albums.”
