Of Mice & Men Founding Bassist Quits

Of Mice & Men bassist and founding member Jaxin Hall has quit the band. Hall comments:

“Of Mice & Men has been both the biggest adventure I’ve ever undertaken and also the most rewarding project I’ve ever been able to be a part of.

The support we’ve received from the most amazing fans anyone could ever ask for is so much more than ANY of us ever expected. Thank you guys, from the bottom of all of our hearts. I say it every day, if it weren’t for your love and support, OM&M would not exist.

But, I have decided that I can no longer be a part of Of Mice & Men. I want to be able to start building a stable future for myself, Love Before Glory, and my future family. In order to do that I can’t be away all the time. It’s just too hard on all the time I need to invest into the next phase for me and I don’t want my life OR Of Mice & Men to suffer because of that.

Of Mice & Men Confirms ex-Sky Eats Airplane Vocalist as Permanent Singer

Of Mice & Men have officially named Jerry Roush (ex-Sky Eats Airplane) as the band’s permanent vocalist to replace Austin Carlile. The band commented:

“Through much deliberation the band and Austin  have decided to part ways. Austin has some issues that prevent him from being able to meet the high demands of touring full time. Our good friend Jerry (ex-sky eats airplane) who has been filling in for him on this last tour will continue as our permanent vocalist. This will not slow us down, as many of you have seen on the last tour, we are still in full force and haven’t missed a step. we will be seeing everyone at bamboozle in new jersey! Thank you all for your support, we can’t wait to see you all soon!”

Of Mice & Men Vocalist Responds to Rumors of Getting Kicked Out of Band

Of Mice & Men vocalist Austin Carlile has released a statement responding to rumors of being kicked out of the band. Carlile comments:

“Don’t jump to conclusions. The band said to management that they wanted me out because they felt I was lying about my heart condition, and how it limits my physical activity. They, and management alike, didn’t want someone in the band who is going to simply pick and choose tours. This is 100% understandable.”

“Since I started the band back in Ohio, and was the only one that signed the Rise Records contract, to now, almost a year later, all the guys in the band have shown and told me how appreciative they are that they were in this with me. They all expressed how thankful they were for the shot at this kind of success, and were stoked for our futures together. Most of them were saying this during the last two tours. I grew to love all of them and individually we each shared some rad moments talking about life and how excited we were to finally be doing what we loved and making something out of it.”

“It came time to go on tour with Alesana, A Skylit Drive, and We Came As Romans, and I couldnt go out with them because I wanted and needed to get my heart fixed. It had been constantly hurting me, and also was like a cloud hanging over my head every day. I couldnt go a long period of time without worrying about it. It was simply driving me insane that I was walking around with a ticking time bomb inside of my chest, especially because 2 years previous, I had been told by my cardiologist in Ohio that I would need the surgery within 2 to 3 years.”
