The Faceless announced that it has parted ways with vocalist Derek Rydquist, and replaced him with Geoffrey Ficco.
“So, as some of you may have heard, Derek is no longer in The Faceless,” guitarist Michael Keene comments. “We wish him the best of luck and will always value the time he spent in our band. Our new vocalists name is Geoffrey Ficco and he is truly a beast! If you’ve heard our demo for ‘The Eidolon Reality’ than you’ve already heard his punishing vocals đ Surprise.”
The Faceless frontman Derek Rydquist may no longer be in the band, seeing as the group is currently on tour in Europe with another vocalist.
“I don’t think I’m prepared or of liberty to discuss my current involvement in The Faceless, but I think you’re on to something here,” Rydquist tells Metal Injection. “I’m definitely not in Europe with them right now, but based on the video I just watched on Metalsucks [showing a recent The Faceless European show with a different singer], the guy they have out there right now is doing an awesome job.”
Bewilderbiest, a project featuring members of Intronaut, Graviton, The Faceless, and National Sunday Law, are putting the final touches on their upcoming debut album. More details to come.
The Faceless have posted a pre-production track, “The Eidolon Reality”, which can be heard below.
The song is expected to appear on the band’s new album due in fall via Sumerian.
The Faceless’ recently joined bassist Evan Brewer (ex-Reflux, Animosity) will release an instrumental solo album, Alone, on June 28 via Sumerian.
