Converge detail new album The Dusk In Us

by | Sep 27, 2017

It’s a good day any time there’s new Converge. As promised, the band revealed details for their forthcoming album The Dusk In Us. It’s album #9 and their first new music in 5 years.

So you can imagine how thrilled we are to hear their new single “Reptilian.” It’s the last song on their forthcoming 13-track effort that captures classic Converge, while showcasing how they’ve evolved since 2012’s All We Love We Leave Behind.

Haunting, frantic, avant-garde, explosive — we wouldn’t expect anything less from these aggressive music pioneers. Especially since the album was produced and mixed by the band’s own Kurt Ballou at his Godcity Studios in Salem, MA.

Now if you’re trying to catch the band live, you’ll have a chance in December if you’re on the East Coast. The band will be touring with Pile and GIVE for a brief stint that ends right before Christmas. And hopefully we’ll get to see them out West sometime in 2018.

Anyways here’s their new single “Reptilian.”

The Dusk In Us is set for release on November 3rd via Epitaph/Deathwish.

The Acacia Strain Interview on Ryan’s Rock Show

I have a pet peeve with the term “music journalist”. I guess technically what I do for Ryan’s Rock Show is a form of journalism, but sadly my image of a music journalist is no longer Lester Bangs. To me, the term “music journalist” has...

An Interview with Rival Schools’ Walter Schreifels: On Quicksand & The Origins of Post-Hardcore

Ever wonder what band headlined the first Warped Tour in ’95? The answer: Quicksand, fronted by Walter Schreifels. “At the time I thought it was a budget Lollapalooza,” he recalls. As he sips on a cup of coffee at Bonnerhaus, the Ryan’s Rock...
