We mentioned this before, but now it’s actually happening for real. Between The Buried And Me have started writing material for their next studio album, a follow up to their 2012 album The Parallax II: Future Sequence.
We’re convinced that the world is just a much better place with Between The Buried And Me. And this fall more BTBAM will be happening. First off, we’ve been hearing rumors that the band have plans to begin writing a new record later this year, and ya know, rumors always have a grain of truth. But prior to any of that, they’ll be releasing their long-awaited DVD.
Today marks the release of the new album from Trioscapes, and boy is it a good one. Jazzy, fushiony, and more technical than last semester’s calculus course, BTBAM’s Dan Briggs and co. really outdid themselves this time with their sophomore effort Digital Dream Sequence.
We’ve been waiting a long while for new Orbs material, a follow up to their 2010 album Asleep Next To Science. The band, featuring Dan Briggs (Between The Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and Adam Fisher (ex-Fear Before, All Human) apparently had new stuff written for a while, and this fall we may actually get a taste of what’s been cooking.
When we interviewed Between The Buried And Me a couple years ago, guitarist Paul Waggoner told us all about his old band with Tommy Rogers called Prayer for Cleansing. Lots of rad basement shows, he said. And while you won’t be seeing BTBAM in a basement anytime soon, you will be seeing them on a huge North American tour with Meshuggah this spring.
