You know we have a soft spot for anything Dan Briggs touches. Between The Buried And Me’s bassist has kept us on the edge with numerous projects over the years — Orbs and Trioscapes to name a couple — and now he’s got a new band in the works: Nova Collective.
If you were lucky enough to catch Trioscapes play at Bonnerhaus in LA this past spring, you know exactly why we talk about them so much. Probably one of the sickest DIY show we’ve ever been to.
Today marks the release of the new album from Trioscapes, and boy is it a good one. Jazzy, fushiony, and more technical than last semester’s calculus course, BTBAM’s Dan Briggs and co. really outdid themselves this time with their sophomore effort Digital Dream Sequence.
We’ve been waiting a long while for new Orbs material, a follow up to their 2010 album Asleep Next To Science. The band, featuring Dan Briggs (Between The Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and Adam Fisher (ex-Fear Before, All Human) apparently had new stuff written for a while, and this fall we may actually get a taste of what’s been cooking.
More like Digital Wet Dream Sequence — especially after you hear this song. We bet you never knew a flute could sound so good. This band Trioscapes, led by Between the Buried and Me bassist Dan Briggs, are prepped to release their second album, and we’re quite impressed.
