A 27-year-old man was killed after what police are calling a “savage” beating following an Agnostic Front show in Washington, D.C. early this morning, according to NBC.

Ali Ahmed Mohammed, 27, was beaten to death around 2:30 a.m. outside DC9 Nightclub.

Mohammed reportedly was kicked out of the club, returned and managed to gain admittance, then was put out again. He returned and threw two bricks, breaking a club window.

Witnesses say that five bar employees chased the man down, caught him and beat him. According to police, Mohammed was “barely conscious” when they arrived.

A part-owner and four employees of the bar — Daryll Carter Jr., 20; Reginald Philips, 22; Evan Preller, 28; William Spieler, 46; and Arthur Zaloca, 25 — have been charged with second-degree murder.

DC9 posted the following statement on its website:

“DC9 is deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred. Our condolences go out to the family of the victim. We would like to thank our friends, family, and all the employees of DC9. DC9 is a special environment of some of strongest friendships that could only be compared to a close family, which we consider ourselves. We very much look forward to our day in court. Stand strong bars & stars.”
