Randy Blythe Remains in Police Custody

by | Jul 2, 2012

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe remained in police custody in Prague on Monday.

According to Blesk.cz, Blythe may spend the next 10 days in jail. “There may well be certain conditions placed upon [Blythe’s] release, such as staying in the Czech Republic, or the availability of a specific address,” Judge Petr Fassati of Prague 8 district court stated. “If the conditions are violated, it could lead to an international arrest warrant being issued.”

Blythe was expected to post 4 million Czech Karuna bail (approximately $200,000 USD), but “the money has not arrived at the court account…” reports Novinky.cz.

Even if Blythe’s bail is posted, he is not guaranteed to be released. “We have to wait for the expression of the prosecution on the admissibility of release,” said Fassati.

Blythe was arrested in Prague last Wednesday, accused of injuring a person during a Lamb of God performance who consequently died in 2010. If convicted, Blythe faces up to ten years in prison.
