O’BROTHER Finished Recording their New Album

by | Jul 30, 2015

Well this is exciting. That new O’Brother record that’s been in the works? It’s done. And it’s currently getting mixed.

Musically, it’s substantially more minimalistic than our last two records. It felt good to strip things down a little bit. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still heavy and orchestral like O’Brother has always been, but it’s also different for us. I think every song has a section where only one of us is playing, so that’s pretty cool, and I’m sure the finished product will sound cool too. Right now we’re looking at a release sometime early next year.

That’s what someone in the band said in this interview. Unfortunately the site didn’t mention the member they interviewed, so I’m going to take a guess and say drummer Michael Martens said it. I could be wrong.

Anyway, this fall the band will be supporting Minus the Bear on a string of dates for their 10-year anniversary tour of their 2005 sophomore album Menos el Oso.
