TOOL’s New Album is “Cooking” Says Bassist

by | Sep 14, 2016

Bring out the oven mitts. Tool bassist Justin Chancellor confirms that a new record is really on the way. How’s that for an album update?

Justin did an interview recently with TopGuitar where he let some info slip about the long-awaited follow up to the band’s 2006’s record 10,000 Days.

“Don’t ask that question,” he said to the interviewer.

But then went on to add, “Just trust me that it’s going to be awesome. It’s in the oven. It’s cooking.”

(You can skip to 8:51 to check that out)

“In the oven” is pretty good news, considering we’ve been hearing for years that a new record is in the works. Makes sense then that the band has been relatively quiet throughout 2015 and 2016.

Last October they debuted a new song at Monster Mash Music festival in Arizona — which was their only show of 2015. And this past January they did a tour with Primus.

If you’re looking to catch them this fall, you’ll have a few chances at least. They’ll be making stops in Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Little Rock, and New Orleans.

And they may just play another new song.

Tool tour dates:

Oct 22 Sacramento, CA @ Aftershock Fest
Oct 24 Salt Lake City, UT @ Maverik Center
Oct 26 Denver, CO @ Pepsi Center
Oct 28 Little Rock, AR @ Verizon Arena
Oct 29 New Orleans, LA @ Voodoo Fest

INTERVIEW: Jonny Craig Exposed – The Drugs, The Sex, The Scams

“It’s sketchy back here,” says Jonny Craig as he steps out of his van to scope the dark alley. We’re in the middle of California’s High Desert in a narrow loading dock behind the venue that stretches nearly a football field long. Aside...

Daath: The Ryan’s Rock Show Interview

Out of the hundreds of interviews that I’ve done for Ryan’s Rock Show, only a select few have truly been fascinating. While some bands may see a Ryan’s Rock Show interview as a cheap exchange of public relations, for me these interviews give first-hand insight into...
