Tera Melos releasing Trash Generator, first album in 4 years

by | Jul 26, 2017

It sure has been a long time since we’ve heard new music from Tera Melos. Four year to be exact. But after some much needed downtime, the Sacramento band are back with a new album called Trash Generator.

What’s a rejuvenated Tera Melos sound like? Well from what we gather, take their pop tendencies and merge it with their explosive old school sound. As the band said themselves, this album is about saying “fuck it.”

Guitarist Nick Reinhart elaborated,

“With this record it was 100% let’s not concern ourselves with what we should be doing at this point in the band’s lifespan, and just fully focus on what makes us happy.”

Bassist Nathan Latona chimed in,

“Making a new record seemed like a fun act of defiance. The odds are against bands like us, but despite all the negativity involved in trying to struggle and survive as an artist, we made Trash Generator because we just wanted to get together, have some fun, and make something that we think is cool.”

Trash Generator was recorded in San Diego at Singing Serpent Studios with Ben Moore, who’s worked with Hot Snakes and Pinback. It’ll serve as a follow-up to the band’s 2013 album X’ed Out, and was their first time recording in a continuous block of time.

Alright, so let’s talk tour dates. Tera Melos will be all over the US this fall supporting their new release. They’ll be bringing along Speedy Ortiz. Dates for that are at the bottom of this page.

But first, take a listen to their new single “Don’t Say I Know.”

Trash Generator will be available on August 25th through Sargent House.
