’68 (The Chariot) to Release their Debut Album “In Humor And Sadness”

by | May 28, 2014

Josh Scogin gave us some interesting insight on music journalism when The Chariot did an interview at Bonnerhaus a few years ago. He mentioned At The Drive-In and how when they were huge, the media only talked about their small shirts, tight jeans, and afros. “They DO write good music!” he said, adding that “You can read entire articles now a days…about all these external things, and they never mention music.”

We totally agree. And for the sake of this article we will now direct our attention to his new band ’68. You’ve heard the music right? Ah yes, well you’ll be glad to know that their debut album In Humor And Sadness will be released on July 8th through eOne Music/Good Fight Music.

In addition to that, the band will be hitting the road in support of the album with Listener and The Homeless Gospel Choir this summer for the “I Went on Tour and All I Got Was This Tour, Tour.” That’s a mouthful.

And if you haven’t heard the band’s Midnight EP, here’s a stream of it to get you up to date.

Just weeks before The Safety Fire’s sophomore album, Mouth Of Swords, came out in September, guitarist Derya “Dez” Nagle was involved in a cycling accident and had to undergo surgery. “Few weeks of rest and all will be well,” he said back in late July about the...

The Acacia Strain Interview on Ryan’s Rock Show

I have a pet peeve with the term “music journalist”. I guess technically what I do for Ryan’s Rock Show is a form of journalism, but sadly my image of a music journalist is no longer Lester Bangs. To me, the term “music journalist” has...

Zechs Marquise Interview: Getting Paid & The Seeming Rise of Instrumental Bands
