KEN MODE Releasing “Nerve” EP

by | Sep 15, 2016

This is super rad. Canada’s own KEN mode released their album Success last year. It was recorded with renowned producer Steve Albini — who’s worked with Nirvana and a gazillion other bands. Turns out, there are a handful of unreleased tracks from the sessions that are getting released as an EP this fall.

The effort is called Nerve. It’s a three song B-sides EP that’s getting issued as a 7″ as well digitally, and will feature new artwork from the band’s longtime collaborator Randy Ortiz.

If you’re not keen on physical records, you can opt for the digital version. It features all three unheard tracks from the 2014 Albini sessions, plus a previously unreleased digital version of the song “Absolutely Not” (which comes off their split single with The Atlas Moth), and three pre-production demos from their record Entrench.

In November the band will be supporting the release with a pair of Canadian shows — a stop in Winnipeg and a date in Saskatoon.

Here’s a stream of Success in its entirety.

Nerve comes out November 10th through Reptilian Records.

KEN mode tour dates:

Nov 10 Winnipeg, MB @ The Good Will Social Club w/ tunic, Beth
Nov 12 Saskatoon, SK @ Vangelis w/ tunic, Dri Hiev
