Converge has re-signed with Epitaph for a worldwide deal, and will begin writing a new album following a pair of shows this month.
The band’s itinerary follows:
Converge is streaming a new song, “Runaway”, on Facebook.
The track comes off the band’s split 7″ EP with Drop Dead.
A live video of a new Converge track called “Runaway” is streaming below.
The clip comes from the band’s performance at Fubar in St. Louis, MO on May 31st.
Converge has canceled the remaining US dates of its current run due to a “serious health scare.”
“Unfortunately on our day drive from St. Louis to Austin, one of our members had a serious health scare,” the band said in a statement. “We rushed him to the nearest ER were he was looked at by some fine Oklahoma doctors. After a night’s stay in the hospital and a battery of tests we were able to have him discharged earlier today. We are now racing (quite literally) to make it to our show at Chaos In Tejas, albeit extremely late, to play an abbreviated set. Wish us luck…”
Converge and Drop Dead will self-release their split 7″ EP on June 21 in both vinyl and digital formats.
Recorded at Kurt Ballou’s God City Studios in early 2011, and mastered by John Golden (Neurosis, Melvins), the effort will feature the track “Runaway” from Converge, and Drop Dead’s “Paths of Glory”.
