Top 10 Albums of 2010
As the 2010 year comes to a close, we (by we, I mean me) here at Ryan’s Rock Show have compiled a list of essential releases that are must-haves for any music enthusiast. After days of shifting through past news posts, re-listening to countless records, and filtering out bullshit bands, I’ve narrowed down all the releases covered on this site throughout 2010 to the top 10 best albums of the year. A side note to readers, while writing this article I made it a point NOT to view other top albums lists, to assure objectiveness and eliminate outside influence. This list does not focus on a particular scene or genre, and was not consciously influenced by factors associated with social merit. All feedback is encouraged (ryan#ryansrockshow.com). Happy New Year, people! And now back to my sauerkraut.
The Dillinger Escape Plan are planning a “massive” North American tour for early 2011, as well as possible dates in South America, Mexico, and Japan. More details to come.
Video footage of The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato performing the song “Rise of the Fallen” with Soulfly at D-Low Memorial Show on August 28 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ can be seen below.
The D-Low show is held every year in memory of Max Cavalera’s stepson, Dana Wells, who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1996.
At Warped Tour in Pomona, CA, The Dillinger Escape Plan were running behind schedule — vocalist Greg Puciato was running late to the band’s set. The group invited a fan on stage to perform vocals for “Panasonic Youth”. Video footage is below.
