Watch SERJ TANKIAN Perform with the CSUN Symphony

by | Nov 14, 2016

Sounds like a good time. System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian performed two nights last week at Cal State University Northridge with the CSUN Symphony Orchestra. It was the first time his “Elect The Dead” and “Orca” symphonies were played in North America.

Serj took the stage last Thursday (Nov 10) and Saturday (Nov 12) at his alma mater, performing at the Valley Performing Arts Center with the orchestra under the direction of John Roscigno. It was a night that blended rock with “the blissful dynamics of an orchestra.”

Now if you’re not into the classical side of Serj, no worries. System of a Down confirmed recently that they’re indeed writing a follow-up to 2005’s Mezmerize/Hypnotize double album. It’ll be their sixth full-length record. You can expect that in 2017.

Here’s some footage from the performance at CSUN on November 10th.
