So this is really awesome. Back in the day when Dave Grohl was a kid growing up in Springfield, Virginia, he was a huge fan of Ian MacKaye (Fugazi), who at the time was playing in the DC area band Minor Threat. He was so much of a fan to where he wrote a letter to Ian asking if he could get “some numbers or people to get in touch with.”

Do you remember when we interviewed Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi, etc.) and he told us about some of the early Minor Threat shows? The band’s first performance ever was at a house in DC on Calvert Street — and guess what? If you’re looking for a new home in that area, it’s up for grabs.
Punknews.org is reporting that Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat, Dischord Records) will be giving a lecture at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA on November 20th at 7:30PM. The event will take place at the Barshinger Center for Music at 619 College Ave. Donations of $5 are appreciated.
