It feels like forever ago since we’ve heard from Oh, Sleeper. Back in 2013 they released their Titan EP — but we haven’t gotten a proper full-length from the band since 2011’s Children of Fire. But hey, that’s all changing in 2017. Album #4 is coming.
Oh Sleeper will be back on the road in February for a trek that hits the Eastern part of the States, plus a stop in Toronto. They’ll be bringing along Rival Choir.
All things considered, it’s pretty crazy how Wovenwar started. Everybody knows the story of what happened with As I Lay Dying, but not many people know that the seeds of Wovenwar were actually planted over a decade ago deep in the heart of Texas, long before As I Lay Dying clawed their way to international fame, and years before their infamous demise.
Several years ago when we interviewed Oh Sleeper, Shane Blay told us about life on the road and objectives the band had at the time. Who could have guessed he’d eventually start a band with the remaining members of As I Lay Dying? Since Wovenwar’s formation this year, the band has picked up a ton of steam; and they’re gearing up to release their debut album this summer.
You know the new As I Lay Dying/Oh, Sleeper band Wovenwar? They’ll be going on their first US tour ever this summer supporting Black Label Society.
