Slipknot has confirmed a pair of Australian headlining dates to coincide with its stint on Soundwave 2012. Dates follow:

During a Q&A session on his solo tour in Dallas, Texas, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor reponded to a fan question asking what it was like working with producer Rick Rubin on the band’s 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses).
Taylor commented, “The Rick Rubin of today is a thin, thin, thin shadow of the Rick Rubin that he was. He is overrated, he is overpaid, and I will never work with him again as long as I fucking live.” Video footage is below.
Slipknot has confirmed that it will tour North America in summer 2012. Dates are to be announced.
In regards to a new album, frontman Corey Taylor says “We still got a couple years before we do something like that.”
Slipknot recently spoke to Billboard.com about the possibility of a new album. While no plans for an album have been officially confirmed, frontman Corey Taylor says he expects the next Slipknot record to be “very melancholy.”
“We know that everything we do on that album is going to be about Paul [Gray],” he stated. “It’s going to be very melancholy. It’s going to be a more saddened form of rage when it does happen, and it’ll be a whole path that we’ve never gone down before.”
