Will There Be a New SYSTEM OF A DOWN Album? “There Has Been Talk”

by | Jan 8, 2015

Glendale is our town, we love System of A Down. That’s what we say every time we drive down Brand Blvd at least. And come to think of it, it’s been a really long time since SOAD put out anything new — since 2005’s dual albums Mezmerize/Hypnotize to be exact. Could it be time for another record?

Over the past year rumors have heated up about the possibility of a new System album. And things may be looking up for die-hard fans.

Serj Tankian told Rolling Stone recently that the idea of new material isn’t entirely out the window.

There has been talk, and we are going to play this tour, come back and we’re going to see where we are.

Nice!

The tour he’s talking about is their upcoming Wake Up The Souls Tour, where they’ll be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. They have one night in LA and will do a bunch of shows overseas, concluding with a free show in Yerevan, Armenia at Republic Square.

And because we can, here’s Hypnotize in its entirety.

System of a Down tour dates:

Apr 06 Los Angeles, CA @ The Forum
Apr 10 London, UK @ Wembley Arena
Apr 13 Cologne, GER @ Lanxess Arena
Apr 14 Lyon, FRA @ La Halle Tony Garnier
Apr 16 Brussels, BEL @ Forest National
Apr 17 Amsterdam, NLD @ Ziggo Dome
Apr 20 Moscow, RUS @ Olympisky
Apr 23 Yerevan, ARM @ Republic Square (free show)
